Product traceability solution for a manufacturing giant

Background

The client was an electronic manufacturer based out of Singapore who approached us for an innovative solution that could track every product part throughout the manufacturing process. The client earlier faced issues with the legacy system performance and product traceability. This in turn affected the quality of end products.

Solution Implemented

We got in-depth insights into the client’s needs and expectations and decided to implement a data-oriented platform to enhance product traceability in manufacturing, improve its efficiency, and fuel the processes.
A data lake system based on AWS was implemented in order to store and ingest large volumes of data and store this information cost-effectively as flat files.
To process stored information and get it ready for future fast reporting, a data processing engine was deployed.
Data quality was verified during data processing. The reporting layer was developed to support standard and fast reporting of product traceability in manufacturing.
Implementation of an ad-hoc reporting tool was done to allow end-users to query swiftly and find dependencies between products, customers, and suppliers.
